As our children grow up...get married...go off to other countries...etc, it becomes hard to get everyone together, and even harder to get a group picture.

This month, we have Tyler and Travis leaving and serving their country in different areas! We are so proud of them! Some parts of the military are downright hard though! Tyler is going to work in Idaho for the next 2 1/2 months, where our pilots are deployed while the runway is being resurfaced. Ana and Isaac will be staying here, while he is gone. Travis is off to Kuwait for 7 months...paying off student loans, in preparation for his upcoming marriage. Please pray for them, their families and families-to-be, as God brings them to mind.

Well, we tried to throw together a family picture. Getting 19 people coordinated enough to look in the same direction at the same time is no small feat...especially where Lyman's are concerned. But maybe that makes for a funner (I know that's not a word) picture...more of a correct snapshot of our family.

This one was pretty good.

A couple silly ones...even Nathan participated in this one! click on picture for close-ups.

What shall we do with Travis and Sophie?

Isaac looks like his hands are folded in prayer...not a bad idea! =)

TurTle Time

So...I was out weeding at the Merganser house, and came across a turtle that had wandered up from the ponds or waterways. I guess compared to a rabbit, they move slow, but I thought he was making very good time. I put him in a wheel barrow, and went to get the girls , so they could see him. He was about 8 inches long, and when you picked him up, he pulled all parts in and made a sort of hissing sound. Then, he'd wet! Huh...good tactic! Even when holding him, he would soon stick his legs and head back out, and move in a clawing direction. Those claws are pretty sharp!

Amie was pretty interested in investigating!

Sophie was interested from a distance.

I did get them to knock on the back of his shell and feel it.

NO THANKS, MOM!

Visitors from the East! and it's NOT the wisemen =)

We had the pleasure of having A. Jean, A. Sue, and U. Robert here for a short time! Makes a reunion look awfully inviting! I miss the gathering at Gpa Balsbaughs!
