Where's Jesus' manners?
We were reading the Bible story of the woman at the well before bed. It got to the part where Jesus said "Give me a drink of water". Sophie says..."He didn't say please!"

Well, yesterday was an interesting day...
So, Tuesday morning I got a call from our adoption agency...they have a little girl for us to consider....My heart goes into overdrive and I am crying...she's a year and a half...special needs. They sent us info and pictures through email. Beautiful little one, I just wanted to say "yes" immediately! Upon first reading, the problem seemed simple enough and easily correctable. I called AWAA back to say we were definately interested...and wanted to pursue it, and get more information. She let me know I had to talk with a physician first, before locking it down,(which means that for 48 hours, they will hold her file from others to review, while we prayed about it.) So, I ran the info into the dr.'s office for him to look over. He couldn't comment on the particular problem, but called another orthopedic office in town for some sort of comment on her condition. No dr.'s in the office at the moment. Next, they referred me to Shriner's. I called there and couldn't get any information without them seeing the child. Hmmm....so I call mom...what any frustrated daughter might do...(she's always got connections!)and she said..."why don't I call my cousin back east...his son-in-law is an orthopedic surgeon. My hopes lift a little... Meanwhile, I read over her information more closely, look up some words in the dictionary, and find out her condition is a little more complicated than first thought. Oh well, God asks us to do hard things sometimes! Right? How will we know? Well, Paul was a little slower to hop on board. Usually I am the slower one...the non-risk taker...before I have ALL the facts. And Paul is the jump out there quick before the opportunity is gone. But after almost 25 years together (Praise the Lord!) God usually tempers us with each other. We heard nothing from any cousins or son-in-law back east...they weren't home. Then first thing this morning, our agency calls to tell us that another family has taken her. And I breathed a thank you Lord, for Your answer! I also thanked Him for the people that said yes!
So...I am amazed by God and also encouraged! I was not expecting a call so soon, so it gives me hope...and also prods us to get our money put together...so when the time does come...we can say "Yes" and here we come...ASAP.
What a peace it gives me to know that the Sovereign God will orchestrate our child's entrance into our family...at a time He ordained, before the world was made by Him.

A few pics from prom...
This was Travis' last prom, since Jenny graduated this year! But I think it was the funnest for him. He always said he was a "dancing machine", but he only liked the slow dances. This year, they had swing dance lessons the hour before the actual dance, and I think everyone had fun with that!

Lindsey came out to find her car munched. Another prom-goer's car rolled back across the street and hit Lindsey's. They were parked on a hill, and the girl forgot to set her parking brake, and turn the tires toward the curb...OOPS!

Trip to San Jose...Six Flags Park
Last week, Paul drove the bus for the 8th grade class, taking them to San Jose; and Sophie and I got to go along for fun. We rode a couple of the big roller coasters, but for the most part devoted the day to kiddie rides and the animal shows with Sophie.
