Amazing Levi!

Levi is usually not CRAZY about having his picture taken.
But CRAZY Mom that I am, I go right ahead and tell him that someday, he will be thankful!
Since he is in public school this year, and though it is not without some drawbacks, he has done very well adapting to it and the positive has outweighed the negatives, so far.  He began the year joining the cross country team.  He didn't have a clue what he was getting himself into, but he is certainly NOT a quitter!  It was fun to watch him push through and improve his time from 25 to 19 minutes.
Cross country meet in Ashland
I like this pose...looks like he's standing a little taller!
Lithia Park is a beautiful place to run!
Levi and his friend, Max.  Levi is just recovering from his race!  =}
He makes his own lunch for school each morning.
What's really cute is that it is the smallest layer of peanut butter and jelly I HAVE EVER SEEN!  I am not sure how he got through the sandwiches I made for him, because mine was thick enough to taste the middle stuff well between the bread!  He is also NOT one to waste.  Where I will leave the heel, he uses them right away.  On a new loaf of bread, he pulls out the 2 heels and uses them first.  "Then," he said, "they are out of the way!"
A few months ago, he declared he did not want to play basketball.  Now he is trying out for the team!  I don't think he thinks he has much of a chance, because he says, "I am too short and I don't know the rules."  But that certainly has not kept him from pursuing it.  If he makes the team, he will pay the $100 fee, and is also willing to walk to the school in dark and cold for the 5:15ish practice.  Paying the money alone is a HUGE step for him...he is so careful what he spends his money on.  Think I will be taking him in the mornings.....I'd like to let him do it once, but kind of worried for his safety!
He spends an hour after school out practicing!
LOVE HIS DETERMINATION!
Jon practiced with him a little.....
wish Travis or Jordan were closer!
