He hit the street

He wasn't going very fast...20 mph? Some one stopped abruptly, 3 cars up...he ended up jumping off before his scooter slid under the car in front of him.

We had been away from home 4 days, and THIS is what we returned to!






aaannnddd....we're back to normal!

How we spent our EASTER weekend

Friday and Monday, Amie had apts at OHSU, where she saw a family medicine dr. for general overview. Stool samples (3 days worth...that was a drag!), bloodwork (she did great, just wasn't crazy about being HELD DOWN!) At Dornbeckers, she saw a ENT surgeon, audiologist, speech therapist, and psychiatrist (I think that's what you call it...they just wanted to know how she was adapting to her life here). We found that she has some low frequency hearing loss due to fluid, not uncommon for clept lip/palate. It will be helped with tubes being put in her ears. She will have that surgery in June. I guess it's a very short procedure, but they have to anesthetize her, so she doesn't move!

In the future, she will have some repair done on her lip to take some fullness out, in about a year. It's not terribly bad looking as it is right now. But she is a baby and everything is cute now. When she is a teen, it may bother her, so we will just take care of it now. When she is 8-9, whenever she has all her permanent teeth, they will do a surgery, which takes bone from her hip and fills in her jaw. We shall see what happens with teeth. Almost positively, we can expect orthodontics.

We left Klamath Falls at 4 a.m. to make it to Portland for Amie's dr. apt. at OHSU.

Sophie loved the tram ride...it took us from Dornbeckers, up on the hill, to OHSU family medicine on the waterfront. Want to go with us next time, Lindsey?

In between Dr. apts...Saturday and Sunday was spent with Lyman/Coffman family. Gma LaVerne had a belated birthday party for Sophie...Gpa Stann had a morning brunch. It was good to be with everyone!
