Getting ready to deploy... going...going...gone! for 60 days.!

Travis left Friday, September 26, and will be spending the next 60 days in Qatar (pronounced cutter)

"See my new boots? They are sand colored!"
Lindsey is moping, like she did when he went away for kindergarten!
"We are all wearing brown...and by the way, Grandpa...isn't that my shirt!"
Travis is packing up
Oh wait...it's a stowaway!
Small pox vaccine
POTENT stuff
Sons....always a bit like dad...even in dress!
Jenny and Travis
Early morning at the airport...lotsa hugging
Coffee anyone?
Nope....not crying....YET!
Last few words...
and prayers! To be continued through duration of deployment!

He didn't wave, cause he couldn't see us inside the building windows!
Going....
.....going.....
..........gone! but not for good!

OK...So this is what I have been up to!

Our China album from the first trip is completed in record time for me! 3-4 weeks. 45 pages (or 90 if you count both sides) =)

25th Anniversary Party

Our children put together a wonderful little get-together with family and friends. Tyler and Ana started it off right, with a family dinner of stir-fry...great stuff! Later, friends dropped by and we had cake, homemade ice cream and italian sodas. Many thanks to our children, for making it a memorable, yummy occasion! More thanks to God...for His faithfulness in working in us to get us to this place of celebration! May the glory be His alone!

Quick trip North

We made a quick trip North on Sunday/Monday. Stayed overnight at Curt and Mom's in Corvallis. Sophie had fun, watching Grandma sew, and also going through her basket of scraps, in which she found a scrap of a her dress! She rode the chair down with gma, and made waffles in the morning. On Monday, we continued on up to Portland to meet with our social worker, who is updating our homestudy for our adoption. Our fingerprints are about to expire, so one thing on top of another...before we apply for an extention on the expiration date, we have to update the paperwork! So many HOOPS!

Scrapbooking in the car! No time to waste!

First football game

End score 66-6...Triad wins! Such a turn around from the first game last year, where they lost, 50 something to 6. Didn't get any good shots of Jordan IN the game. It's a little harder to catch, but he isn't often on the sidelines. He plays defensive end, and special team...whatever that is. I am just learning all the positions, on a need to know basis. Travis is still jealous...maybe I'll let him play dress up in JP's uniform, take his picture so he can see how cool he would have looked in those spandex pants, had they had a football team when he was in school! Jordan is one of the tallest boys on the team...he likes being number 2...something intimidating about "divide you by 2".

Jordan is 2nd from the right
