Last Road Trip/Basketball Game!

Sadly, the season has come to an end...Triad lost to Nixyaawii, 88 to 64. It was great fun! What a way to end your senior year, Jordan!

Someone brought out some left over tacos from the Friday school lunch. They were attacked and devoured shortly by hungry seagulls!

Pendleton, Oregon....very beautiful rolling hills!

Packing up the car!

Happy 21st birthday, Lindsey Kae!

Twenty one years ago, this beautiful little blonde baby girl entered our world of boys! And we were changed forever! God bless you Lindsey, as you continue to grow into the woman God created you to be!

Birthday night was a quiet dinner at home....chicken tortellini...and strawberry cheesecake!

The right amount of candles! The cake is full! Celebrating on Feb. 14th with Grandpa Mohler's, U. Jason's and some friends, we played Bunco....ate cake, and played Bunco some more.

Normal nice picture...Emma DIDN'T get the memo!

Silly picture. Look how stoic Ben and Jordan are in both pics! All they are missing are pitchforks in hand!

Highlights of basketball season......

I have few pics of Jordan on the court...since my lens doesn't capture it well. The few I have of him playing, I have thanks to the other mom's/fans that take pictures! Season is drawing to a close. They were undefeated for league season, lost to Butte Falls during district playoffs. Have 2 games this week....

Paper Pregnancy #3

This shall be the OFFICIAL blog announcement (although a lot of you already know it!)

Lyman's are expecting child number 7! Can you believe that high of number of kiddos? Not in a million years would I have ever guessed where God would lead us in this lifetime, yet here we are! It's a good thing He doesn't let us in on His future plans for us, because often we would try to control or orchestrate them to fit out "liking". Or live our life in fear and dread.

Well, I had hoped that we could post a picture by now, but we cannot, until we receive our RA (Referall Acceptance) from China. Here are the specifics: Wang Xiao Wen is 13 years old, birthday Aug. 19, 1996. He is in Datong, Shanxi province in China. He has repaired cleft lip and palate, been in foster care since he was born. We have named him Levi, because his mama likes that name! Come to find out that Levi is a Hebrew name and it means joined, united as one, attached to....and I like that! He will be joined with us, united as one family! And what a family to join! He is already loved and wanted and looked forward to!

Our dossier is almost complete and ready to go to China; waiting on one last piece of background check. This time around is a bit more detailed in the fact that there has been a new treaty regarding adoption, the Hague Treaty, which requires background checks from every state you've lived in since 18 years old. But we know God's timing is perfect, so therein we rest!

Are we excited? very much so!
Apprehensive and scared? You betcha! We don't have any preconceived notions that this will be easy. So different from a baby; this is a half grown boy, and we are going to totally emerge him in a new culture, food, language, school system, introduce him to Jesus. But this was God's idea, not ours. and He will not give us more than we can handle with His help and strength.

We covet your prayers for our family in this process. Please pray for Levi, as he finds out he has a family. I am also praying that he is in a family that believes in God. Even in a communist country, where it is illegal to share Christ with children, there ARE Christians who love the Lord! Wouldn't that be wonderful!

We are thinking we may go in June/July to bring home our son!

How Often Shall I Pray?

As often as the language of prayer is in my heart; as often as I see my need of help; as often as I feel the power of temptation; as often as I am made sensible of any spiritual declension, or feel the aggression of a worldly earthly spirit.

How to Pray Aright

I often say my prayers,
but do I ever pray?
And do the wishes of my heart,
go with the words I say?

I may as well kneel down
And worship gods of stone,
As offer to the living God
A prayer of words alone.

For words without the heart
The Lord will never hear,
Nor will He ever those regard
Whose prayers are insincere.

(As far as I can tell)

I have been enjoying the series by Alistair Begg on Nehemiah. He quoted part of this poem in his sermon....challenging us to question whether we are just going through the motions or talking to THE LIVING GOD!
