Have you ever.....

....been corrected by your children? You know, when they are old enough to read numbers and they look at the signs and then at your speedometer and let you know you're going too fast? You know you have! Or when they read a sign that says not to______, and you are doing the opposite (tut tut!)

Well, I will just tell on myself a little....and I can't say it was actually correction exactly, but it was challenging and encouraging!

So....Paul was up visiting his mom for a couple days, the little girls were in bed, Jordan was doing homework in his room, and I was attacking a couch full of clothes to fold. I flipped on the TV, and landed on the final episode of The Bachelor. (I know, I see some of you cringe!) Now, just a note, we hardly watch TV, as our children can attest. Oh, there are the occasional Dirty Jobs or Las Vegas Pawn Shop or History channel special Paul likes, but usually it ain't on! So, I don't know why I was drawn to watch the last show...I haven't watched any of the others. Anyway, so I am watching as this guy is in a quandry on which one to pick because he likes them both! (and I was wondering to myself how trustworthy he could be, and how could a woman want someone that was trying out all the other ones at the same time) Then Jordan comes out of his room for a breather and asks me why I was even watching that trash! Gulp! I don't know...I'm bored? There was more discussion that followed, but I have to admit that I was brought up short. And it gave me pause for thought...even if it is just a moment in time and not a habit, what am I filling my mind or time with? Whose watching my choices?

Philippians 4:8 Whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (The Bachelor is none of those!)

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
Thank you, Jordan, for sharpening me!

Discussion over Breakfast

We had just finished reading and discussing Proverbs 4.

Sophie "Mama, how come there are so many gods."
Mama "There is only ONE true God!"
Sophie "Then how can He be with so many people?"

Good Question!
"Because He IS God, and He is omnipresent."

Last Road Trip/Basketball Game!

Sadly, the season has come to an end...Triad lost to Nixyaawii, 88 to 64. It was great fun! What a way to end your senior year, Jordan!

Someone brought out some left over tacos from the Friday school lunch. They were attacked and devoured shortly by hungry seagulls!

Pendleton, Oregon....very beautiful rolling hills!

Packing up the car!

Paul's vehicle of transport.

Nee-cah-way...Umatilla Indian Reservation

Fish mural inside the cultural center.

Girls liked the shiny metal fish!

Cool roadside depictions of the Pendleton area.

Pull-ups!

The gym was packed and LOUD!

THERE IS life after basketball!

Just the everyday...

On some days...the swords are guitars!
There is much music in the house!

Baby strollers turned to cars.

Reading time.

Snuggle time!
