After a CHANGE in our weekend plans,
Paul decided to check our CHANGE jar, which has been collecting pocket coins for several years.
It had been told that when it reached a good amount,
it was for a trip to Six Flags.
Amazing how all the little stuff adds up!
It wasn't full of quarters only =}
and it wasn't $1000,
but it was enough for a trip to Six Flags!
We began our trip, after work, under cloudy, but BLUE skies!
No smoke!
And the fun part was,
the kids didn't have a clue what was going on.
They thought we were going for an evening drive
and taking a picnic dinner!
.....which we were!
Hmmmm.....redneck vandalism?
Dorris flag's a flyin!
A couple tag alongs!
Beautiful Shasta
Picnic......at a rest stop!
OK....so we are not going fancy!
Shocking views out opposite sides of the car windows.
Driver's side is beautiful, clear skies over Shasta.
Passenger side is the smoked in valley, due to the fires burning!
Shasta vs valley!
A funky little bus.....
Low Lake Shasta
Still the kiddos have no clue we are not going home!
Paul asks Jon to look for some "Bovine frozen confections"!
He is great at talking in code!
We are NOT in Oregon anymore!
Hamburger Restaurant in Redding!
We didn't eat there, just got a laugh out of the name!
Glad to be passing through here in the evening,
with those temps!
Didn't realize how dirty the dashboard was though!
After a night in a motel, we need to "find" our way home!
This is what little sisters do to big brothers!
Amie, Amie, Amie!
Interesting mixtures!
Coffee....what, no Flyway around.....
Have to settle for Starbucks.
Oh wait, what is this....why don't we pull in here and look around!
Sophie was beside herself with excitement!
Levi was apprehensive of those ominous looking rides!
We gave him 1/2 a dramamine!
Paul didn't let me take the camera in,
so the pictures inside the park are from phones.
Not bad though!
Spinning with Dad!
Elephant ride with Sis!
Looney Tune Land...
We are heading for the LINES for the big rides!
Diving tigers....
really cool!
Crazy faces!
Lots of windmills around. Hopefully they are paying off!
We saw lots of interesting sign along the way.
Most we noticed almost too late to take a picture!
Exhausted at the end of the day!
and grumpy!
(not really.....he's just good at goofy faces!)
AND HAPPY!
Though we spent 10 + hours on the road,
the conversation and laughs along the way were well worth it!
And Paul and Lindsey had a much needed break from work!
Good to see them laughing and having fun!
Levi's souvenier.....
He rode the Superman ride....with his eyes shut!
His favorite ride was Medusa!
