Great to be a Gramma!

Tyler, Ana, and Isaac (baby Isaac as Sophie says)came over and brought dinner, and we got to watch Isaac walk all over the place...not much slowing him down. He's 10 and a half months old and as beautiful as can be...those Big brown eyes and long lashes. He loves to love on Sophie! with big open mouth kisses on her head. She's ok with it till her hair gets pulled.

Easter Day

After church, we had a group of 30 friends and family for Easter dinner...Lymans, Mohlers, Bowmans, Morgans, Myrons, Packers, Rices, a Trumbull and a Weiting...such good fellowship! We ended the evening sharing communion together.

Adult kids table...Lindsey was the only girl, but she held her own amidst 6 guys! After all, she grew up with brothers!

The adult kids hid the Easter eggs for the younger kids....funny thing was they used some to hurl at each other...Travis probably started it!






Shawna did a neat project with the kids...taking a marshmellow symbolizing Jesus, dipping it in butter, then sugar and cinnamon for the oils and spices they used on Him at burial. Then they wrapped it in dough for burial and put Him in the grave(oven). After baking, the marshmellow melts and disappears, for empty tomb!



Mom has brought the much loved Chocolate chip pie!

I have just begun listening online to Alister Begg, a pastor in Cleveland, OH...and wow it is something worth checking out. I have listened to his series in Luke and it has brought a lot of insight in the events leading up to the Crucifixion.

Shepherd's Conference

Day 1 started right with Krispy Kreme Donuts... great 3500 men stoked on sugar and caffeine...before a 2 hour session A view of the crowd of Pastors, Elders, Teachers and Laymen. Over 3500 men, standing room only, all gathered for the purpose of learning more about shepherding God's flock in their local church. Amazing to behold considering there were men from all 50 states, Italy, Germany, England, Mexico, Africa, Japan, Australia, and.... Klamath Falls.
The first session opened with the mens choir from The Masters College/Seminary. About 325 voices in all.
Now things are getting serious. The conference organizers, Grace Community Church fed all the men lunch all three days. Day 2, shown here was In & Out Burgers w/chips cookies and icecream sandwiches. Incredible! Notice the picure below has a IN&OUT Semitruck, truely an invention that is worth the investment. Other meals included a Grilled Tri-Tip/Chicken w/coleslaw and garlic potatoes, and of course Chocolate cake for desert, Day 3 brought man size grilled outdogs and chips and ice cream. No one can complain about the meals. Our snacks between sessions were fruit, bagels, coffee, soda, water, ice cream. I think we were fed better then we would do it at home. The folks at Grace Community Church were Awesome. It took upwards of 1000 people to make this whole thing work and they do it every year. This truely was a ministry that was above and beyond and I know that God will bless them for their work. Thanks to everyone that made this happen.
Dad Mohler talking with Al Mohler. After checking it out, it turns out that they are truely blood relatives. They are related through the blood of Christ! Steve Lawson spoke on Friday morning. Incredible teacher and speaker. He started out going 60 miles an hour at about 85 decibles, and ended about 100 miles and hour at about 110 decibles. Very enthusiastic about his teaching.

We were getting a behind the scenes tour of the facilites at Grace Church and ended up in Pastor John Macarthur's personal office. Hmmmm a private tour of the Inner Sanctorum... It was pretty neat to get the VIP tour and we can thank Shelley for arranging it (He used to be head of security at the church), and his good friend Ken for being our tour guide and hooked us up with reserved parking, reserved seating and all the trimmings. THANKS KEN!! This church is probably between 7-9 thousand folks in attendance between the 100+ ministries they operate and it takes alot of people, (over 250 employees, and hundreds of volunteers) to make it all work. The campus was beautiful and well equipped.And of course, we can't leave out this picture. Our host Ron and Janet Waters were hanging out as Bob helped with the dishes. What a trooper. How come he doesn't do this at my house?

Tea Party

Sally hosted a beautiful tea party. We first had to pick out a hat to wear...Sophie wasn't crazy about that at first, but we finally convinced her to put one on. Then, she tried on 2 more! There were 3 kinds of finger sandwiches...all very yummy...a salmon, cucumber and carrot/peanut butter. We had 3 different kinds of tea...a rooibos from Africa, a raspberry, and a chocolate. What fun! Thanks Sally! As you can see, Ken even got in on the action...came home from his tennis game and joined right in! Reminds me of something Grandpa Balsbaugh would do!
