God is STILL in control.
Romans 13:1
Every one must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established from God.
1 Timothy 2:1
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Sounds like we had the same train of thoughts, Beth. Amen!
It's encouraging to know that, no matter what, the end result is in God's hands! All we can do is trust Him.
Thanks, Beth. God's word is so to the point! The phrase that caught my eye on this reading was in the
1 Timothy passage "...requests, prayers, intercession and THANKSGIVING.....". I saw the connection that thanksgiving is possible (and required)whatever government we live under because all are established by our God, our King! Maybe that's a "Duh", but for me it was fresh this morning. I wasn't feeling very thankful for the election results!
And Micah 6:8 is probably my favorite OT verse. So much said in so few words about what kind of people God wants to change us into.
"..predestined to be conformed to the image of His son..." Romans 8:29 May we all be challenged to allow God's light to shine through our weak flesh as we submit with joy to His rule. Blessings.
Good thoughts.
