Jordan's Budding Acting Career

Last year, Jordan had a small part in the school play, "Sound of Music," where he played Rolf, the boy who was interested in Liesl.

This year, he had a main part in the play, "Annie," where he played Daddy Warbucks. I have to say, I wondered if he could carry such a major part, and he did an incredible job. Knocked this mom's socks off...I saw all 4 performances! =) He pulled off playing the older man with a very commanding voice....had some great one lines! Was a lot of fun. The pictures aren't great. They were taken on the last night of practice, before the performance, so there are some missing details in the set and costumes. Also, with my flash, I had a bad shadow. Need to take a class on photography.

That's not a BOY! An orphan's a Boy!

Looking to Challenge your thinking?

I have run across a thought provoking blog...and thought I would pass it on. Can be heavy, but who of us couldn't use some whacks to the noggin sometimes to think more deeply about this life and the things we do here. The address is http://unstained.wordpress.com/
God bless your day!

It WAS a Happy Mother's Day!

What could be better than being with my family. We just missed having Tyler, Ana, and Isaac too, but Tyler just returned from a TDY. After church, we took a packed lunch up to Crater Lake. It was a partly sunny afternoon, but very chilly with the wind. Still lots of snow!

Spring is Here!

After a long, cold, snowy winter (which we enjoyed!) THANK YOU, GOD, for the warm sunshine and color beginning to show.

Jordan's Transformation

Jordan is gearing up for his part in the school play in May. He is Daddy Warbucks! in Annie. He wants to be sure his skin has time to tan.

Upon further contemplation.....

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.

Now to focus on the "not want" part...

The intent is recognition that God is the provider of all my needs...he provides for His children, as he provides food for the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field, Matthew 6:26-30. But....how many times do I "not want" those green pastures or those quiet water? How many times do I chaff against his provision? How much am I not satified with the abundance he has given me, and want something...not necessarily "more", but something different than He has provided? How often do I not let, or make time, for Him to restore my soul? Hmmmmm.....I feel the need to confess my discontent and ungratefulness! Psalm 34:8 "Taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!"
